1984-Jacky made his first appearance on stage.
May 1985-The release of his first album overwhelmed the whole of Hong Kong.
1987-Many well-respected celebrities felt he was the successor of Sam Hui (Xu Guan Jie).
Apr 1988-May Law announced her break-up with Jacky.
May 1988-Someone saw Jacky drinking heavily at Lan Kwai Fong. When a fan discovered his identity, he drew his fist and hit him. This took everyone in Hong Kong and Taiwan aback.
Jul 1988-At a friend's wedding, Jacky was found teasing the bride. In his drunken stupor, he actually swiped some cake across the bridegroom's face. Many friends severed ties with him after that.
Sep 1988-Jacky decided to quit drinking.
Oct 1988-May returned to Jacky's side
Feb 1989-The movie, Ba Xing Bao Xi (I don't know the English title), starring Jacky, Chow Yuen Fatt and Sylvia Chang was critically acclaimed.
Feb 1989-Alan Tam hinted that Jacky would be the main support of Hong Kong Pop Music in the future.
Jun-Sep 1990-Sam Hui retired from the music industry. Jacky's songs, such as Loving You More Each Day (Mui Tien Ngoi Lei Tor Yat Seh) and Only Willing To Love One In A Lifetime (Chi Yuen Yat Sang Ngoi Yat Yan), were extremely popular in Hong Kong and Japan. This created the first platinum album for Jacky.
Jun 1990-In Hong Kong's Top Ten Songs of the 80's, Jacky who had only been in the industry for 5 years, won two songs out of the ten. He was regarded as a "miracle".
Jun 1990-Jacky's Sun And Stars (Tai Yeung Shing San) was voted as the Best Ambition Setting (Lap Chi) song.
Aug-Dec 1991-Jacky held his 18-day long concert. It was named "Loving You More Each Day". At that time, the theme was regarded as futuristic and innovative.
Mar 1992-Jacky was crowned as the First of the Four Heavenly Kings by medias from Hong Kong, Taiwan and Mainland China. That denoted the start of the Heavenly Kings' reign in Hong Kong's music industry for more than ten years.
Spring, 1992-Jacky released album, True Love Expression (Chan Ching Lau Lo). This album received a wonderful feedback from people and won Jacky another platinum sales record. Many salesmen chose this album over others to play on their Hi-Fi systems.
1992-One of the Heavenly Kings, Andy Lau, announced in public that besides Jacky and himself, the presence of the other two Heavenly Kings were only to make up the number of 4. This agitated the other two and a 'tough fight' amongst the 4 began.
Summer, 1993-Jacky released album Farewell Kiss (Wen Bie). This album sold over a million copies (In fact, up till today more than 4 million have been sold), and broke the highest record that Teresa Teng had previously achieved for Tian Mi Mi.
Sep 1993-Jacky released Cantonese album I and You (Ngor Yue Lei), which achieved platinum sales again.
Dec 1993-Jacky held a 28-night long concert at Hong Kong Consortium. This was the longest any singer had done then.
Winter, 1993-"Jacky and Friends Concert 93" (93 Hok Yue Yau Yin Cheung Wui) received lots of attention from everyone and everywhere. Leslie Cheung (Zhang Guo Rong) commented that Jacky's influence had already surpassed that of singers from the last generation.
1994-Jacky released 5 albums, all of which hit platinum.
Feb 1994-Leon Lai expressed that his favourite singers were Jacky and Priscilla Chan (Chen Hui Xian).
Apr 1994-Jacky won the first Most Popular Singer Amongst Singers award.
May 1994-Andy Lau revealed to the public that he wanted most to buy Jacky's album because Jacky's vocal was of superior standard.
Jul 1994-Jacky was in the midst of settling debts for his brother, which amounted to HKD 4.6 million.
19 Aug 1994-Beijing, China removed restraints that had been set previously on Jacky's albums due to pressure from fans and media.
Sep 1994-Jacky held a mini concert in America and received positive feedback from the local media.
Nov 1994-Aaron Kwok felt that Jacky was a true friend and someone like him was hard to come by in the entertainment circle.
Dec 1994-Jacky started making preparations for his 10-year anniversary concert (Yau Hok Yau Yin Cheung Wui). At the same time, he recorded a medley of songs titled Jacky Love Songs (Yau Ching Kor).
Jan 1995-Jacky rejected the offer of endorsing Coca Cola in Hong Kong, hence resulting in majority of Taiwanese media controlled by Coca Cola blacklisting him.
End-Jan 1995-Taiwanese fans refused to buy magazines and newspapers that blacklisted Jacky. Alan Tam, Tong An Ge and Emil Chau stood up for Jacky.
Feb 1995-Su You Peng told his own fans to boycott magazines and other periodicals that were blacklisting Jacky.

Feb 1995-Jacky released a new album that hit platinum again. Many felt that Jacky's albums were a guarantee for good sales in the market.

17 Sep 1995-A day to commemorate for Chinese fans all over the world. The first Asian singer to attend the World Music Awards had been born and that was Jacky. He won the Best Selling Chinese Singer In The World award and Most Popular Chinese Singer in Non-Chinese Regions award.
Oct 1995-Producer Michael Au and Manager Pak Lap Keung hinted that Jacky would stop acting for the time being.
Nov 1995-Jacky announced that he would stop acting for the time being. (Achievements in his acting career: 1988 Hong Kong's Best Supporting Actor; Maggie Cheung was the Best Supporting Actress/ 1989 Taiwan Golden Horse Awards Best Supporting Actor/ Nominated Best Male Lead in 1994/ 1995 No. 6 of Top Ten Chinese Actors in the world).
Nov 1995-Jackie Chan, Chow Yuen Fatt and Stephen Chow felt that it was a waste of Jacky's talent. At the same time, they wished Jacky the best in his singing career.
Dec 1995-Jacky and May announced that they would be getting married the following year.
Feb 15, 1996-They got married in London.
1996-Album I Can't Forget You (Wang Ji Ni Wo Zuo Bu Dao) sales exceeded Teresa Teng's Tian Mi Mi and Alan Tam's Ai Zai Shen Qiu and became no.2 in the sales history of Chinese singers (No.1 was Farewell Kiss/ Wen Bie)
Jun 1996-Jacky worked with Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra to produce album Love And Symphony, which hit platinum sales again.
Sep 1996-Jacky attended World Music Awards again and became one of the Ten Most Respected Singers in the World
1997-1998-Jacky started keeping a low profile. Mandarin albums I Wish To Enjoy The Wind With You (Xiang He Ni Qu Chui Chui Feng) and No Regrets (Bu Hou Hui) continued to achieve platinum.
1997-Musical Snow Wolf Lake (Xue Lang Hu) staged its performance for the first time. This musical won several awards and its influence in Hong Kong and Singapore was held in comparison with American movie Titanic.
1999-Jacky held his World Tour Concert. He held the record of attracting the greatest number of audience around the world.
1999-Album Walking Past 1999 (Zou Guo 1999) was produced meticulously and in this album Jacky started to change his image.
2000-Andy Hui (Xu Zhi An) expressed that without Jacky, Andy Hui and Ronald Cheng (Zheng Zhong Ji) would not exist. His speech received agreement from Ronald Cheng.
2000-Jacky maintained a low profile
25 Dec 2000-Jacky released his first English album and achieved the very first platinum for English albums among Chinese singers.
Early 2001-Jacky attended the Top Ten Hit Songs Award Ceremony and was told to give up his seat to newcomers by a rude fan. Jacky expressed that he would not bother about this comment.
Feb-Mar 2001-Many singers, together with Apple Daily encouraged Jacky to continue singing.
May 2001-Jacky released album First On Earth (Tin Har Tai Yat Lau) which sales figures dipped.
Oct-Nov 2001-Jacky released album Fever (Re). Due to the poor performance of this album, Jacky had to act in a Taiwanese Drama to boost the sales.
Nov 2001-Eason Chan commented that other than Jacky's albums, all the other Heavenly Kings' albums had no appeal. This comment created a stir in the industry.
Dec 2001-Jacky planned for his Music Odyssey Concert 2002, hoping to bid the poor performance in the previous year goodbye, thus improving sales in the following year.
2002-Jacky declared that he would not attend any award ceremony in Hong Kong and China. He felt that there was no longer any award ceremony that was influential in Hong Kong.
15 Mar 2002-Jacky Cheung Music Odyssey made its first stop at Sydney, Australia. Again, Jacky created a record for Chinese singers by attracting nearly 20,000 people to watch his concert in a single night. He was the first Chinese to sing on the grounds where the Olympics were held.
